Nationally-known weaver Sharon Alderman presented a workshop called
Double Weave and Color and Weave Effects: One Warp, Two Major Techniques on March 8, 9 and 10, 2014 in Spokane. During the three-day workshop weavers used one warp to explore loom-controlled double weave variations and also color-and-weave effects. Color-and-weave effect drafting was explored and used to design the woven cloth.
Sharon was a contributing editor of Handwoven magazine for many years, best known for her Swatch Collections that regularly appeared in the publication. She is the author is Mastering Weave Structures and she operates a working handweaving studio. Her work has been shown in competitions and invitational exhibitions all over North America.
